Heisman High School Scholarship Must have a 3.0 GPA or higher and participate in athletics
October 20 US Senate Youth Program

Juniors & Seniors who are currently serving in an elected or selected position, such as student government, class officer, 4H, or other organization

Students will receive a free trip to Washington DC and a $10,000 Scholarship

AR School Board Association Student Essay / Speaking Contest

Students will write an essay and present it on the following topic: Schools of the Future: If you Could Redesign Education, What Would It Look Like?”

$250-$1,000 cash prize

Only 1 student is allowed to submit an essay for our high school. Students need to turn in their essays to Mrs. Tolley by Oct 11th. If there is more than one applicant, PHS staff will decide on the applicant.

October 31 Voice of Democracy Essay Competition

Students in grades 9-12 can enter this essay competition,

over $30,000 in scholarships will be given out

November 14 Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Scholarship Must have a 3.5 GPA or higher, must plan to attend college after high school
November 30 Chick & Sophie Major Memorial Scholarship Duck Calling Contest

Any 2024 Senior can participate

November 24th at 11:00 am

ATU Creative Writing Scholarship

Any Senior is eligible to apply, must attend ATU, up to $1,500 Scholarship

To enter, send a poem, a small group of poems, a short story, a novel chapter, or a piece of dramatic writing to the address provided below. The student's name, address, and phone number should be written on the back of each page of your mailed entry. Electronic entries can be sent to engl@atu.edu. Put “Creative Writing Contest” in the subject line.

ASPMA Scholarship – March 1 deadline – for any senior who plan to attend further education

AASBO Memorial Scholarship – April 1 deadline – for seniors who are children of AASBO members (AR Association of School Business Officials)

TEL-AR Scholarship – March 1 deadline – for seniors whose parent is a member of TEL-AR

AACTEA Scholarship – March 1 deadline – open to seniors who pursue further education, must be a completer in a vocational program of study

AAESP Scholarship – April 1 deadline – open to seniors who are children of AAEA members

$5,000 Scholarship

Applicants are asked to write an essay (1,500 word maximum) or submit a video no more than 4 minutes long, describing the impact of Alzheimer’s disease or another dementia-related illness on themselves, their families or their communities, and what they have learned.

·       Lillian McGillicuddy Republican Party of Arkansas Scholarship, for students who are members of the Arkansas Federation of Young Republicans or are active in the Republican Party of Arkansas

·       Marie and Bob Marshall Republican Party of Arkansas Scholarship, for students who are members of or active in the Republican Party of Arkansas

·       Merwin T. and Agnes Bowman Nursing Scholarship, for students seeking a Bachelor of Science in Nursing or equivalent degree from a qualified institution

·       Poultry Federation Scholarship, provides scholarships to students pursuing a degree related to the poultry industry and attending a school in the University of Arkansas system, Arkansas State University system, Arkansas Tech University or Southern Arkansas University

·       Robert P. Atkinson Hospital Leadership and Scholarship, provides a scholarship to students pursuing an advanced degree with an emphasis in healthcare and/or hospital administration
